A Lonely Dream

It was a lonely dream
Though i was not alone
Was way behind others,
Thinking but nothing sure
Gautam Sehgal

Others were finding their way with ease
Like a river, stream or seas
They were doing it their way
I still was thinking, what others would say

Built a behavior of getting stuck
In a fix before i do
Breakers for me accelerate others
Get diverted in the midst of no where

A lonely dream

Not aware of what it would,
Made some changes assuming it could
It is my future or present being passed?
Solving questions being never asked.

THE HIDDEN PAIN

It’s a about a joyful sorrow,
It’s not what it seems,
Knows about his black tomorrow,
Under a bright sun beam

The tears are not seen,
But the eyes are totally wet,
Never seems to be mean,
Thinks, nothing he would get,

Treats himself like crowd,
That never got a name,
May be wants to cry loud,
Thinks, “I have lost the game”

I would wish to tell the soul,
Things are never the same,
Spread love and be happy,
Just be a Hall of fame.

WHAT MORE CAN WE DO

Its been a very long time MAD has been putting efforts to improvise garbage disposal in Dehradun (Green Doon).

But So far the Uttarakhand govt. has not taken their reports seriously.

But Mr. Abhijay Negi (One of the major names in MAD org ).

Another report presented to Uttarakhand Govt. regarding the improper Garbage Disbosal

===================================================================

To
The Chief Health Officer, Nagar Nigam, Dehradun. Date: 5/9/13
SUBJECT: WHAT MORE CAN WE DO TO ENSURE SPEEDY ACTION ON OUR GARBAGE DISPOSAL REPORT
Dear Gurpal Singhji,
Making a Difference by Being the Difference (MAD) was formed on June 8, 2011 and since then we have pursued our environmental agenda of making a cleaner Dehradun very passionately. That is why in December, 2011 we met the then Chief Minister Mr. Khanduri and handed over our improper garbage disposal report. The same was forwarded to your office.

To ensure that the report did achieve its desired objective, we then handed over the report to the then District Magistrate Mr. Dilip Jawalkar and also to the Mayor Shri. Chamoli.

Seeing no action forthcoming and a regime change in Dehradun, we met the Honorable Chief Minister Shri. Bahuguna in January this year and handed over our report. The same was forwarded to your office yet again.

Then we met Mr. Chamoli again and handed over our report. In April, you wrote to me (Annexure I) asking MAD to discuss our report recommendations. However in our meeting with you it was conveyed to us that you still had not got the report. So, we came to your office on the 21st of May and personally handed over the report to you along with a letter (Annexure II). We also requested you to arrange for our meeting with the DVWM officials and to look into the complete absence of civic amenities for the Municipality sweepers (Annexure III).

There has been neither any dialogue with us on any of our concerns nor any action for us to see. All our personal interactions with you have only convinced us that you are a diligent official working for change in your own capacity but what saddens us is that our efforts from December 2011 to September 2013 have only been in vain. If it were possible for a self funded, student run informal group of youngsters to clean up the city at once, believe me Sir, we would never have bothered you so much. We again request you with all our reason to kindly look into the 16 garbage hotspots identified by us in our 76 page garbage report and together with our group and other like minded groups, let us begin a Clean Doon Campaign on a war footing. We hope beyond hope that this time, we shall not be ignored.
Regards,
Abhijay Negi,
Team MAD.

The Soundless Reply

My destiny had something to ask
I was like silent onlooker.
I had nothing to answer
With success as a task

I started answering,
 With what I did,
It all got silent,
Like an innocent kid.

Gautam Sehgal

I never complaint for any pain,
No matter whether it’s like rain
Even though was pulled so hard,
By the level of that thirsty drain

LOVE OR PAIN ?

In a full moon light,
I met an angel,
As a pass through mirror,
She seems so clear.

Her eyes were so innocent,
One could be lost in depth,
I had no words,
But to hold my breath

It’s about what I think,
Gets complicated before her eyes blink,
She never knew she was all mine,
I would be no more before her sun shines.

MAD Volunteers Clean Tamsa Stream ( DEHRADUN )

On May 19, 2013 (Sunday), MAD headed towards Tamsa Stream passing by Tapkeshwar Temple (Ancient Holy Place in Doon). Their cleanup drive was also covered by media and accompanied by local residents,

Famous news Paper "The Tribune" appreciated their deed...

Making a Difference (MAD), an association of 800 youngsters in Dehradun, has taken up the cleaning of dwindling streams which have been choked due to excessive pollution and gross neglect by people as well as the government.

Many of the erstwhile perennial streams are now beyond any scope of revival. It is certain that the streams flowing below the Bindal bridge and below the Rispina bridge are dead with all their biodiversity.
From east canal to west canal, Dehradun has no canals. MAD has now resolved that it would not allow those few streams to meet the same fate. Last year in May, they had zeroed in on the Tamsa stream which comes from the Bijapur dam to Dakra and is filled with the filth on the Tapkeshwar temple premises. It is the only stream which is the source of water supply for the town. Concerned over this, MAD volunteers held a mega clean-up drive and an awareness campaign on the premises of the Tapkeshwar temple on May 13 last and collected over 15 quintals of assorted garbage.

On hearing that people continue to pollute the stream, a team of 40 MAD volunteers were back in action yet again today. These included students from Summer Valley School, Brightlands, Doon University, the Dehradun Institute of Technology and Graphic Era University.
The Mahant of the Tapkeshwar temple extended full cooperation and support for this drive and provided them with some spades and also organised tea for young volunteers.
Wearing gloves, gumboots and masks, the youngsters started their work to clean the dried-up stream full of polythene and other pollutants.

Let’s Rise Like a Sun

Its time to stand
With a will, “We Can”
We know we can
Just need to know, when?

No need to think,
What others would say,
We all stay together,
Just need to pray.

Save Water

There are a lot of things that play a key role in our life, but few things are really an essential in our daily life, no matter if its a Rich person of Poor, every individual needs WATER in his daily life.

Source - Wikipedia

Water covers 71% of the Earth's surface,  Only 2.5% of the Earth's water is freshwater, and 98.8% of that water is in ice and groundwater.

Looking over to these stats, we can really point out that it is really very less if compared to the consumption, which takes us to few Questions,

1- Are we actually making the most of what we've got ?
2- Are we responsible enough ?
3- DO WE SAVE WATER ?

Many more Questions are there and among these three, i would only answer the 3rd one, "No we Don't".

Almost every Mediocre as of now can get water in exchange of money, but is it really available to many of those who need it as well ?

I feel so pity when i see such happenings.

And even after all these scenarios being going on in our country no one cares of this precious natural resource we are blessed with.

And this is whats happening....

There Won't Be A "TOMORROW"

It was a dark sunny day
With crowd on the road,
With trees leaning down
To unleash the code

“No eating, Drinking or littering”
Was written all around
What all we could see
 Was just a crying ground

Lots were left behind,
And lots were to come.
The only challenge was,
To prevent the rising sum

Feed The Needy

I feel really glad sharing this with all.
MAD has come up with something that would bring a real change to the people of Dehradun..and i am sure, to the people of our country as well. After the completion of the clean-up drive next to Krishna Palace, MAD has now decided to switch over their drive and do something that would give a ray of hope and satisfaction to the people who are living ... i am sorry.. it actually who are passing their lives in the slum areas, where they don't have any one who could sit with them and tell them what they would be if given a chance.

Coming back to What difference is gonna be done on 16/12/12 i.e. on Sunday, 16 December 2012.

Sunday Morning at 1045 hrs every MADian is supposed to gather at Astley Hall, Rajpur Road (Dehradun, Uttarakhand). Everyone is appealed to get Aloo ke Parantheys with them, i would request all that you may get any thing that you think would be useful for them. Its not just about feeding them with food, its just to feed them with their needs.
